Buphe acknowledges the rights of privacy and dignity of all persons, this includes the right to protection of personal information.

In compiling this policy, the statutory framework contained in the laws of South Africa, particularly the Bill of Rights, the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) 4of 2013 and various other pieces of legislation applicable to Healthcare and Financial services, were given due consideration.

POPIA aims to give effect to the constitutional right to privacy and promote the fair and transparent use of personal information, further strengthens our resolve, and requires us, to protect our clients’ information appropriately.

POPIA defines ‘personal information’ as any information that can be used to identify you as an individual or a legal entity. Examples of personal information are your identity number, account number, telephone number, email address or physical address.

As part of our commitment to protecting your personal information, and in complying with the law, our processing activities involving personal information are aligned with POPIA.

Our Privacy Policy governs the way we, at Buphe, treat and deal or process your personal information.

We respect your privacy and undertake to treat your personal information as confidential.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we use, collect and share your personal information.

We undertake to ensure that all personal information will be protected from unauthorised access, loss or damage and respected as confidential by all staff members, contractors, volunteers or learners, and in the unfortunate event that your information is compromised; we will follow the process outlined in the Protection of Personal Information Act.

It is important that you read our Privacy Notice carefully before giving us any personal information. If you give us your personal information, you consent to our processing your personal information as set out in this notice.

If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, you may choose not to use any Buphe website, Mobile Application (B Mobi) and/or products and services and not submit any personal information.

Personal information will be collected from you directly or from an employee that capturing the information on the system (B Mobi or website).

We collect information from you when you visit our website/app, register on our site, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey or fill out a form.

  • Employee: refers to those individuals who are employed by Binc or are under contract to perform a service on behalf of one of the parties.

  • Service: refers to the service provided by Binc as described in the relative terms (if available) and on this platform.
  • Partner: refers to advertisers, contest sponsors, promotional and marketing partners, and others who provide our content or whose products or services we think may interest you.
  • You: a person or entity that is registered with Binc to use the Services.

Binc will collect End User Data necessary to provide the Binc services to our customers. End users may voluntarily provide us with information they have made available on social media websites. If you provide us with any such information, we may collect publicly available information from the social media websites you have indicated. You can control how much of your information social media websites make public by visiting these websites and changing your privacy settings.

The aim of our Privacy Policy is to guide you and our stakeholders on how we collect, use and protect personal information.

For example, when you submit your email address to us to show interest in becoming a Binc customer, we receive information from a third party that provides automated fraud detection services to Binc . We also occasionally collect information that is made publicly available on social media websites. You can control how much of your information social media websites make public by visiting these websites and changing your privacy settings.

To offer financial products and services to you, we need to collect, use, share and store your personal and financial information to do the following:

  • Verify your identity.
  • Assess the risk of fraud and money laundering.
  • Contractually engage with you in terms of loans and credit.
  • Understand your financial needs to offer you the best services and products.
  • Develop suitable products and services to meet your needs.
  • Market relevant products and services to you.

You have the right to refuse to give us your personal information, but your refusal may limit our ability to provide the required services to you.

We will collect from you only information that is necessary and relevant to the services or products that we offer. And we will collect and use your personal information only if we are lawfully allowed to do so.

You have the right to ask us to confirm whether we have any information about you. If we do, you may also request a record of that personal information, as well as information about all third parties with whom we have shared your personal information.

  • correct or delete your personal information that we have or control if it is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, outdated, incomplete or misleading or has been obtained unlawfully;

Information collected via our website/app, through direct interactions with you, or from use of our help services may be transferred from time to time to our offices or personnel, or to third parties, located throughout the world, and may be viewed and hosted anywhere in the world, including countries that may not have laws of general applicability regulating the use and transfer of such data.

To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, by using any of the above, you voluntarily consent to the trans-border transfer and hosting of such information.

If applicable law imposes any non-disclaimable duty to protect your personal information, you agree that intentional misconduct will be the standards used to measure our compliance with that duty.

The laws of South Africa shall govern this Agreement and your use of the website/app. Your use of the website/app may also be subject to other local, state, national, or international laws. Binc uses "Cookies" to identify the areas of our website/app that you have visited.
